Story
GAMI is an outdoor exhibition dedicated to the archive of the Ippodromo Snai San Siro in Milan — more than a century of racing history held in paintings, photographs, books, magazines and objects. Working from the racecourse's own database, we turned the archive into an interactive exhibition, translating its story into four sections, each devoted to a different area of the collection. Every section invites visitors to touch, open and explore; in some, integrated technology brings the material to life.
As experience designer, my role was to find engaging ways for the public to meet the archive. That ranged from technical proposals — an interactive book built with projection mapping, sensors and a spatial audio experience — to entirely analogue gestures for handling the paintings and artefacts. The result is an exhibition where heritage is not kept behind glass but placed in the visitor's hands.
